Buzan Masterclass Curriculum

This Masterclass has 6 WSQ modules:

1. Develop Personal Effectiveness 2 Days
2. Vision Leadership 2 Days
3. Develop Organization Relationships 2 Days
4. Innovation & Change Management 2 Days
5. Financial Literacy in Business Management 1.5 Days
6. Systems Thinking Skills 1 Days

These 6 modules will be conducted over 3 months and include 1-1 assessment and mentoring sessions in between each module.

Skills Future Singapore (SSG) will award a Statement of Attainment on successful completion of each of these WSQ modules.

Principal Trainer

Dr Tan Buck Chye

Dr Tan Buck Chye is the Principal Trainer and Managing Director at Tony Buzan Learning Centre as well as Mind Map Training Centre.

He was previously a Senior Business Manager with the Standard Chartered Bank, Chief Executive of Europa Holdings Pte Ltd, Vice Chairman of China United Pure Water Company and Chairman of The Beverage Company of Asia Limited.

A Buzan Instructor, DISC Facilitator, ACTA, 6-Seconds® EQ Trainer, DACE and IAL Associate Adult Educator, Dr Tan has an illustrious track record in corporate management and will draw on his experience to crystalise key leadership principles and applications in this course.

Trainer/ Assessor

Mr Soh Hang Kwang

Mr Soh started his career as a management associate at Chemical Bank in New York and since then had held senior roles in both wholesale banking and private/wealth management business. From 2010-2020, Mr Soh was Vice Chairman and Asia Head of Rabobank’s corporate and investment bank where he was responsible for leading its wholesale debt and advisory business across China, India and South East Asia.

Mr Soh is an accountant by training and an alumnus of NUS, INSEAD and HBS. He was appointed visiting professor-of-practice at Zhejiang International Business School in 2019.

He obtained his Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance (ACLP) in 2021.

Registration for courses funded by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) are subjected to further suitability and eligibility checks by both SSG and YMCA Education Centre (YEC).

Entry requirements:

1. A minimum of 3 years working experience
2. At least 1 year at mentoring or supervisory or managerial level in leading and managing teams
3. Good spoken and written English communication skills
4. Education Level:

  • 3 GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English OR
  • Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 OR
  • Higher Nitec in a relevant industry

Trainees are required to be able to speak, listen, read, and write in the course of work using English as the main language of communication.

The assumed skills, knowledge and attitudes for this programme are:

1. Good analytical and communication skills
2. Good digital literacy skills with word processing and presentation tools
3. Deep domain expertise and industry knowledge
